¿Who is Skatermanco?
I'm Antonio Herrera Trujillo (Tarifa, Spain), a passionate young photographer and videographer specializing in capturing the beauty of nature, wildlife and sports. I was born on June 8th 2000, which happens to be World Oceans Day, creating a unique and deep connection between me and the vastness of the sea.
Throughout my life, sports has been my constant source of inspiration and enthusiasm. Pursuing my passion, I decided to study Sports Science at the University of Cádiz, getting my degree in 2022. Little did I know that this academic path would lead me to discover my true calling - photography.
It was around mid 2019 when I stumbled upon the mesmerizing art of photography, and ever since, I have been completely captivated by its ability to freeze moments in time and tell compelling stories. Combining my expertise in sports and my newfound passion for photography, I discovered a realm where I could portray the thrilling world of water sports through the lens of my camera. I’m always open to explore other fields of photography in a professional way.
¿What does photography means to me?
Photography means everything to me, it's not just a profession, but my true medium of expression. Through my lens, I strive to capture the essence of dynamism and emotions, freezing moments that convey the beauty and excitement of the world around us.
My journey as a professional photographer has been a thrilling adventure. Working with renowned international magazines in the water sports sector, such as Thekitemag and Foilingmagazine, has been an incredible opportunity to combine my passion for photography with my love for sports.
Over the years, I've had the privilege of covering prestigious competitions like the Spain Wingfoil League, Wingfoil World Tour, and the Big Air Kite League. Being amidst the action and capturing athletes in their element has been nothing short of awe-inspiring.
This photographic journey has taken me to some of the most breathtaking locations around the globe. From the sandy shores of Brazil to the ancient wonders of Egypt and the captivating landscapes of Cabo Verde, I've been fortunate to witness the world's beauty from unique perspectives.
One of the highlights of my career was winning the award for Best Aerial Photography of the Year at the Ocean Power World Photography Awards. It was a recognition of my dedication and passion for capturing the power and grace of water sports from above.
